Silentium. Musica. Lux…
Andrey Nikitin is a composer, arranger and photographer. For over thirty years I have been creating music: from chamber quartets and choral scores to symphonic canvases and film soundtracks. My journey began in 1990; I received my professional education in 2008 in the composition class of Mikhail Borisovich Broner.
My works are performed at the Moscow Conservatory, on Channel One and the Kultura TV channel. I wrote music for the documentary "Tour to the Exclusion Zone", awarded a prize at an international film festival, made arrangements for Anna Egoyan's concerts, and took part in national projects, including "Tsar-Bass" - a joint project of a DJ and a symphony orchestra.
Alongside music, I work as a photographer. My approach to a frame is akin to composition: light, rhythm, pause, accent - all subject to a single idea. I shoot portraits, concerts, events and what is commonly called "the elusive".
Music and photography are for me two languages of one story.
